Thermal scanning and partial discharge testing
Loose connections, overloaded circuits and failing insulation usually show up as heat or electrical discharge long before they cause a trip or a fire. Inspecting for them while equipment is in service lets you plan repairs instead of reacting to a failure.
Thermal scanning is done with panels under normal load. Partial discharge checks on HT switchgear are non-intrusive, so no shutdown is needed for the survey itself.
Service scope
- Infrared thermal scanning of LT switchboards, distribution boards and busbar chambers
- Scanning of cable terminations, isolators and motor control panels
- Partial discharge inspection of HT switchgear, cable boxes and transformers
- Load current readings at the time of scan
- Visual inspection of the equipment surveyed
Deliverables
- Report with thermal and visual images of each finding
- Temperature rise and severity rating for each hot spot
- Recommended action and priority for each finding
- Follow-up rectification and re-scan on request
