Battery chargers keep switchgear tripping and control supplies alive, and UPS systems carry critical loads through a mains failure. Both only prove themselves when the mains is lost, so they need regular checks while everything is working.
Service scope
- Charger inspection: float and boost voltages, output current, alarms and indications
- Battery bank checks: cell voltages, electrolyte levels and topping up where applicable
- Cleaning and tightening of battery terminals and links
- UPS inspection, alarm and event log review
- Battery discharge or capacity tests when scheduled
- Replacement of failed cells, chargers or UPS batteries
